Unknown Roman.

Third quarter of the 1st century BCE.
Inv. No. 10473.

Rome, Vatican Museums, Gregorian Profane Museum
(Musei Vaticani, Museo gregoriano profano)

This portrait head, cut off just below the chin, is mounted on a togate body to which it does not belong. The togate body to which it is attached is possibly from Vulci. There is no information about the provenance of the head. We know only that it had been in one of the storerooms of the Vatican before being joined with the present body.
