PLAUTILLA
Fulvia Plautilla was the daughter of the powerful praetorian prefect Plautianus, a fellow towns man of Septimius Severus. She was married to Caracalla in A.D. 202, but three years later was banished following the downfall of her father. Her captivity ended in 212 when she was put to death soon after the assassination of Geta.
Her Greek Imperial coinage is remarkably extensive (more than fifty mints) considering the brevity of the issue, A.D. 202-5, and her minor position in the imperial family. Plautilla is sometimes named Plautiana, after her father, on her local coins, though this peculiarity seems to be confined to several of the Lydian mints.
