Found in Tusculum = Frascati near Rome.
Description:
Bildnisse zweier Politiker der römischen Republik sog. Marius (9), sog. Sulla (10). Freie Kopien — wohl augusteischer Zeit — von Bildnissen bedeutender Römer des 2.Jahrh. v. Chr. Wegen der zahlreichen Übereinstimmungen (Maße, jähe Kopfwendung, geöffneter Mund, große Augen) sind sie wohl als Paar (Brüder, Gegenspieler?) konzipiert und zusammen etwa in einer Porträtgalerie — aufgestellt gewesen.Credits:
