Description:
A man of power, of the same age as Augustus and his loyal friend and right-hand man in the army, Agrippa was second only to the princeps in the number of offices he held. In 21 BC he married Augustus’ daughter Giulia from whom he had four children, among which Gaius and Lucius Caesar. Agrippa must also be mentioned for his public activity as a town planner in his position as aedile, but also as a private builder in Rome and in the empire’s provinces. On his initiative the Pantheon, aqueducts, baths and several public buildings were erected, mostly in the Campus Martius.
