Description:
The veiled female figure following young Gaius might portray either Livia, the princeps’ wife, or Julia, his only daughter. However, chronological evidence seem to support the second hypothesis, because in 13 BC Julia had a key-role in the strategy for the succession to the throne, as she was mother of Augustus’ heirs Gaius and Lucius Caesar.
