Description:
Born in 15 BC from Drusus and Antnia Minor, Germanicus will be one of the most loved and popular men of his time, both for his loyalty to Augustus first and then to Tiberius, and for his skill as a strategist. Among his deeds, he rescued the ensigns lost by Varus in the rout of Teutoburg. He will die in AD 19 in Syria; a widespread opinion has it that he was poisoned by Calpurnius Piso, who eventually commited suicide.
