Limestone. Ca. 190—210 CE.
Inv. No. 2795.

Copenhagen, New Carlsberg Glyptotek
(København, Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek).

Description:
For beauty and wealth of jewellery, this unknown lady remains matchless. Eyes and jewels had glass inlays to accentuate the painted surfaces. The traits are Indian and bear witness to Palmyra’s wideranging trading network.
