Origin:
Was unearthed in 1568 on Campus Martius, Rome. For a long time was being considered as a sacrificial scene with Antoninus Pius and Faustina. At the time of the Napoleon invasion was transfered to the residence of general Miollis, the Governer of Rome. The lacking parts of the reliefe were reconstructed with plaster by Annibale Malatesta. Since 1835 — in the collection of Marquise Campana. In 1861-63 was acquired by the Louvre as a part of the Campana collection.
