Origin:
Found in Rome in 1534—1536. Entered the collection of Agostino Chigi. In 1550 in the collection of Noccolo Guisa. In 1551 in the collection of Paolantonio Soderini in the Mausoleum of Augustus. In 1578 was purchased by the Cardinal Ferdinando Medici for his collection in the Villa Medici. Since 1677 in Florence, the Tribuna of the Uffici Galleries. In 1800 until 1803 it was kept in Palermo to escape the Napoleonic predations.
