Description:
This fine fresco represents Dionysus, a Maenad, and Silenus. Pompeian fourth style, the Pompeian style are four periods which are distinguished in ancient Roman painting. They were originally delineated and described by German archeologist, August Mau, 1840-1909, from the excavation of wall paintings at Pompeo, which is one of the largest groups of surviving examples. This fresco has been examined by the expert doctor Olivier Bobin, he is the CEO, director, scientifique for CIRAM Laboratories, Martillac, France, has been examined and and confirmed authentic by Dr. Bobin.
