Reused capital of unknown origin.
Description:
In accordance with its significance, the building was furnished with high-quality spoils, which were inserted deliberately and following a certain order. The first column at the apse has a fluted shaft and an unusual figural capital of the Severan period, which instead of the volutes has victories on its corners and trophies in the middle. The column is set on a pedestal adorned with a cross, which dates to the foundation of the church. All the other columns, including those in the nartex, have shafts of Pavonazzetto and uniform Corinthian capitals of the second century.
