Nel quadro è possibile riconoscere una fanciulla che si appresta a salire sulla passerella di una nave, della quale si riconosce bene la poppa, insieme ad un personaggio maschile in armi e col capo coperto da un elmo.
Part of wall painting of Helen about to board the boat to Troy with Paris. On the south-west side of this wall was one of the six panels more than 4 foot high, that used to adorn the walls of the atrium.
Mau identifies a possible site of the painting of The Judgment of Paris, but says the picture is now entirely obliterated. See Mau, A., 1907, translated by Kelsey F. W. Pompeii: Its Life and Art. New York: Macmillan. (p.316).
